Hi, I’m David Heath, Chief Financial Officer, at Transportation Impact.
am motivated to come to work every day to help grow the relationships that I am a part of —the customers I interact with, the colleagues I work beside each day, and the local community I live and work in. I grew up in a farming community, where actions matter and relationships matter more, and as I moved into a new community, the accounting industry, I found the same to be true.
Being conscientious in our approach to people, business, and community allows us to leave things better than we found them. I find the most joy in work when I get to celebrate as part of a team reaching our goals.
This approach served me well as CFO for International Farming Corporation, a vertically integrated agricultural investment firm with nearly $2B in assets, where I led a global team across finance, investor reporting, treasury, human relations, and legal, and also represented the firm on the board of the various operating entities.
Relationships were also at the core of my work with the Zurich-based investment bank, Credit Suisse, where again I served on a global team, this time in the asset management and private banking business. As VP Finance, I was responsible for financial reporting and regulatory compliance with teams in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, along with support staff in Asia.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse, I worked for the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche, where I managed financial statement and compliance audit engagements ranging from small asset management firms to large complex financial and banking institutions.
I received my Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I am a licensed CPA in North Carolina.
My wife, Mary Ann, and I have been married nearly a quarter century and have four boys ranging in age from 11 to 22. Outside of work, I enjoy time on the water with my family, mentoring youth and teens, and volunteering frequently with the church and the local boy scouts. I am a huge supporter of the mission of the Boys and Girls Club. I am also a Tarheels and Boston Red Sox fan.
Being conscientious in our approach to people, business, and community allows us to leave things better than we found them.
