Company pledges time, effort, financial resources to charitable causes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Emerald Isle, N.C. (February 21, 2017) – Transportation Impact is excited to announce IMPACT1, a new initiative aimed at helping charitable organizations through volunteering, goodwill services and financial contributions.
IMPACT1, an acronym for Improvements Made by People ACTing as 1, is a pledge by the supply chain spend management firm to annually give back one percent in three key areas: time, effort and financial resources.
“We have been fortunate beyond belief,” said Keith Byrd, company co-founder and principal partner.
“But that doesn’t mean we don’t know what it feels like to have to struggle with challenges life sometimes gives us. We want people in need to know that we are here to help them through what they are going through, and we want other organizations to join us in this initiative. If you can’t give money, provide a service. If you can’t provide a service, give your time. Anything we can do to help one another will go a long way.”
The IMPACT1 mission is to provide time, effort and financial resources to improve the lives of others while encouraging others to join the cause.
Beginning this year, each Transportation Impact employee is allotted 20 volunteer hours, 10 of which can be used volunteering for a company-sponsored charity and 10 to use helping whichever organization they choose.
In addition, the company itself will offer the equivalent of one percent of its services to charitable organizations that could benefit from TI’s solutions, but might not have the funding to pay for them.
Lastly, the company will give one percent of its annual profit to charitable causes.
“What we want people to know is that there is more than one way to help,” said Travis Burt, also co-founder and principal partner. “In some ways, the money is the easy part, but there are tons of organizations out there that, while they might have the funding, they need manpower to accomplish what they have set out to do.
“Our employees talk a lot about how good they feel when they are able to get out into the community and volunteer and be a part of something bigger. As a leadership team, we recognized that and wanted to step back and determine how we could provide an environment in which people could experience that feeling more often. We hope that IMPACT1 will not only be a great vehicle to do that here at TI, but also for others within the community.”
