Transportation Impact named Business NC Employer of the Year 2018

Emerald Isle, N.C. (May 1, 2018) — Business North Carolina has named Transportation Impact of Emerald Isle as its 2018 Employer of the Year in the small to medium category, reflecting a company culture that emphasizes a supportive atmosphere, an emphasis on giving and humanity, and approachable leaders and managers. Throughout its swift rise, Transportation Impact has kept a firm focus on helping its employees reach their greatest potential.

“We are thrilled to receive this honor,” says Keith Byrd, who co-founded the company in 2008 with fellow ex-UPS employee Travis Burt. “We have always seen our employees as our greatest asset, and even though we’re growing rapidly, we’ve made sure to keep that front and center. This has helped us to attract top-level people who bring drive, energy, and enthusiasm along with their skills and expertise. We are very fortunate to have such a great team.”

“Best Employers in North Carolina” is an initiative dedicated to finding and recognizing North Carolina’s best employers. The free statewide program is managed by the Best Companies Group, which uses a two-part process to poll employers and their employees on dozens of topics, from recruiting practices to recognition programs.

Some of the factors that propelled Transportation Impact to the top of the list are tuition assistance, profit-sharing, on-site fitness facilities and massage services, a comprehensive benefits plan, 401(k) with discretionary company match, increased company medical insurance contribution, Good Friday and employee birthdays off, $100 restaurant gift cards for employee birthdays, use of company condos, free NC Aquarium membership, gym reimbursement, bicycles for employee use, on-site yoga, quarterly employee events, company-paid life insurance, sustainable practices, and telecommuting.
