Transportation Impact among NC’s 100 largest private companies

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Emerald Isle, N.C. (October 7, 2016) – Transportation Impact found a place among the Grant Thornton North Carolina 100, a list published by Business North Carolina magazine that ranks the state’s largest private companies by revenue in the most recent fiscal year.

TI was one of just four logistics consultants to make the list and joined the ranks of American Tire Distributors, SAS Institute Inc., Gregory Poole Equipment Co., Waste Industries USA Inc. and Golden Corral Corp. as North Carolina’s leaders in private business.

The award is the latest in a string of accolades for the budding Emerald Isle-based company, which landed among the Business North Carolina Mid-Market FAST40 list earlier this year as well as the Inc. 5000 for the fourth consecutive time.

“We continue to be humbled by the recognition we receive as a company,” said Co-Founder Keith Byrd. “We credit much of what we do to our staff, the support from our community and the faith that our customers have shown in TI.

“To be mentioned in the same breath as so many other North Carolina companies that most would consider household names is indescribable. We have come a long way in a short time, and we’re proud of that, but we understand that we aren’t at the finish line. We are just getting started, but recognition of the job we’re doing is a nice reminder that we’re heading in the right direction.”

Transportation Impact has undergone aggressive expansion in 2016. In July, the company moved into a spacious new headquarters, located at 8921 Crew Drive. The company has added human capital by hiring in sales, marketing and IT personnel, implemented key strategic partnerships throughout the U.S. and expanded its service offerings to include smaller volume parcel shippers in addition to helping reduces costs for truckload and less-than-truckload freight.

“Our goal is to stay ahead of the curve,” Byrd said. “The trick is making sure that we don’t lose focus on the things that got us here.”
